The Watershed Center houses a Geographic Information System (GIS). The system will be used to analyze and display spatially distributed data, such as the locations of good trout habitat in the Henry's Fork watershed. GIS enables us to graphically display scientific results in a way that anyone can understand. HFF has a powerful Sun workstation and the ARC/INFO GIS software, which we are using to map the results of our aquatic habitat survey.
The Henry’s Fork Watershed Center opened in May, 1995 to serve scientists, government agencies, and citizens by providing them with the opportunity to understand the resources in the Henry’s Fork watershed. The Center houses a research library and also serves as the administrative office for the Henry’s Fork Watershed Council.
